Great Futures Start Here!
Our Lavietes Clubhouse in Shelton will be open from 10-6 today due to Shelton Public Schools being closed. Our Pre-K program will open at 9 am. There will be no Derby before-school program, but we will transport Derby members this afternoon.
The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower
Naugatuck Valley has been a cornerstone of the community since opening it doors
in 1926, operating back then as the Community Building Association. Serving
some 2,000 youth a year, our Club provides a safe, structured and positive
environment for young people after school, during holidays, and over summer
We are part of a nationwide network of Boys
& Girls Clubs. Located in every state, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and
U.S. military installations overseas, Boys & Girls Clubs are delivering
proven programs to millions of young people every day.
To provide, in a safe environment, programs that inspire, educate, guide, and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
Membership is open to children between the
ages of 6 and 18 years. Our hours of operation are generally from 2:00 to 9:00
p.m., five days a week; see our Membership pages for specific hours in Shelton
and Ansonia. During the school year, we provide transportation to the Club from
public elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools in Shelton,
Ansonia, Derby, and Seymour.
