At the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley, we offer a nine-week Summer Camp in our air-conditioned Clubhouse at One Positive Place in Shelton. Our Camp is certified by the State of Connecticut, and our staff are certified in first aid and CPR. Children are separated by age, and each group has its own activity schedule. Groups rotate through our building and grounds throughout the day, giving everyone a chance to play in our gymnasium, gamesroom, arts and crafts room, and computer room inside, and in the field, on the volleyball court, and on the blacktop outside. Wednesdays are field trip day, where members venture out to such locations as CoCo Key or Chuck E. Cheese. On Fridays, there is always something special after the free lunch cookout, such as Wacky Water Day, Field Day, or Club Idol.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all our campers. Club Sandwich in our Food Court operates daily for those who wish to purchase lunch at the Club. Or campers may bring their own food from home; please label all your child's belongings with first and last names. Every Friday we offer a free cookout of either hot dogs or hamburgers to all our members. All campers are required to complete the Meal Form, which can be downloaded by clicking the image above.
Though our staffers are certified in first aid and CPR, we do not administer medications of any kind. We will, however, make reasonable accommodations for a parent or guardian to come administer any medication that may not be self administered by your child. We must know of any medications your child takes, even at home, in case of emergency. This includes sensitivities or allergies. If your child needs to self administer any medications, such as an epi pen or inhaler, a completed Authorization for the Self Administration of Medicine form or Authorization for the Administration of Medicine form with approval for meds to be self administered check off must be submitted with the medication. Children requiring these medicines may not attend camp without one of these completed forms. Please note that we are not a peanut-free facility.
We will offer trips throughout our summer camp. All trips are optional and require permission slips, which are handed out the week before the trip. Our Special Event calendar will be available prior to the start of camp with the complete schedule and cost for each trip. Once camp begins, our website will aos have the most up-to-date trip information. Check frequently throughout the summer for additions and changes.
Shelton Summer School Van
We will be providing transportation to Shelton members attending the 2013 Summer Learning Program offered by Shelton Public Schools. Vans will pick your child up at Shelton Intermediate School and bring them to our Clubhouse. Though this service is free, you must register for it when registering your child.
