Mohegan School

The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley operates before and after school programs at Mohegan School. The program runs from 7 am until the start of school in the morning and from dismissal until 6 pm after school.
If you need your child to start on the first day of school, registration and payment are due by August 15, 2023. If payment is received after August 15, your child will begin on September 5 or 3 business days after we receive payment.
If you would like your child to attend on August 28-29, your child’s registration and payment must be received by August 15, and Day Pass payment for August 28-29 must also be received by August 15.

Before School Hours: 7:00am – start of school day
After School Hours: end of school day – 6:00pm
Staffed by employees of the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley, the Mohegan School program offers homework assistance, sports, gym games, special events, arts & crafts, and fun activities.
We will be open for delayed openings; our delayed opening will match the school’s. We will be open on regularly scheduled half days, but closed when the school building is closed (school vacations, snow days, unscheduled early dismissals, and/or distance learning days).

August 28 & 29 – Open 8 am – 6 pm for pre-paid school year and day pass members only
August 30 – First day of school
September 4 – Labor Day, Clubhouse closed
September 22 – Early Dismissal. Clubhouse open early, buses transport as normal
September 25 – Yom Kippur. School closed. Clubhouse open 8 am – 6 pm. $20/day/child (members only)
October 9 – Columbus Day. School closed. Clubhouse closed for staff training
October 20 & 27 – Early Dismissal. Clubhouse open early, buses transport as normal
November 7 – Election Day. School closed. Clubhouse open 8 am – 6 pm. $20/day/child (members only)
November 17, 21 & 22 – Early Dismissal. Clubhouse open early, buses transport as normal
November 23 & 24 – Thanksgiving. School closed. Clubhouse closed
December 22 – Early Dismissal. Clubhouse open early, buses transport as normal
December 25-29 – Winter Break. School closed. Clubhouse closed.
January 1 – New Year’s Day. School closed. Clubhouse closed.
January 12 – Early Dismissal. Clubhouse open early, buses transport as normal
January 15 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. School closed. Clubhouse closed for professional development
February 15 – Early Dismissal. Clubhouse open early, buses transport as normal
February 16 & 19 – February break, Clubhouse open 8 am – 6 pm. $20/day/child (members only)
March 1, 8, 15 & 22 – Early Dismissal. Clubhouse open early, buses transport as normal
March 29 – Good Friday. School closed. Clubhouse open 8 am – 6 pm. $20/day/child (members only)
April 8-12 – April break. Clubhouse open 8 am – 6 pm. $75/week or $20/day/child (members only)
May 27 – Clubhouse closed. Memorial Day. Come march with us in the Memorial Day parade! Check with Membership Desk for details.
June 4-7 – Early dismissal. Clubhouse open early, buses transport as normal
June 7 – Tentative last day of school

Morning Program: $170 per month
Afterschool Program: $170 per month

Enrollment Process
If you need your child to start on the first day of school, registration and payment are due by August 15, 2023. If payment is received after August 15, your child will begin on Monday, September 5 or 3 business days after we receive payment.
If you would like your child to attend on August 28-29, your child’s registration and payment must be received by August 15, and Day Pass payment for August 28-29 must also be received by August 15.
Required for registration:
- Completed online membership application
- Payment in full for first month
- Completed Authorization to Administer Medicine form for any child who requires an epi-pen or inhaler
- If your child will be attending the Clubhouse at 1 Positive Place in Shelton in the afternoon, you must submit a separate, one-time registration under our Shelton Clubhouse page (click here).
If you would like your child to ride the bus to our Club in the afternoon, type YES on the Membership Application for bus service AND write a letter to your child’s school stating your child has permission to ride the bus to our Club in the afternoon for the school year. If you do not do both of these, your child will not be bussed to our Clubhouse in the afternoon.
