Shelton, CT, July 9, 2024 – The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley is excited to announce the 52nd annual John “Red” Larsen Golf Classic, set for August 12, 2024. This year, the event is proudly presented by Duct Diagnostics and will be held at the picturesque Race Brook Country Club in Orange, marking the second year at the venue for this cherished charity golf tournament. This year’s Premier Sponsors include Charter Arms, Cohen & Thomas, The Entrepreneur LLC, Blakeman Construction, Own Your Future Foundation and the Luise-Champagne Family Fund.
Event Schedule and Details:
- Check-In: 8:00 – 10:00 AM, giving golfers ample time to warm up at Race Brook’s driving range.
- Start Time: 10:00 AM
- Entry Fee: $1,200 per golfer foursome, which includes:
- 18 holes of golf and cart
- Access to the driving range
- Hot breakfast sandwiches, Refreshments on the course, Cocktail hour, BBQ lunch after golf
- Golfer’s gifts
Highlights of the golf classic include the Million Dollar Shootout and Beat The Pro contests along with prizes awarded to the top golfers. Raffle tickets will be on sale, and the silent auction will be open before and after the tournament. Registration will be capped at 30 foursomes.

- Reception Sponsors: $1,800, which includes a full-page ad in the program, signage at the reception, website recognition, verbal recognition at the event, logo/name on reception tables, email newsletter recognition, and four free (non-golfer) reception tickets.

Proceeds from the golf classic benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley, an organization that has been transforming the lives of young people in the Valley for more than 65 years. The Club offers a variety of programs, from homework assistance and nutrition to workforce development, helping all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, reach their full potential.
