Shelton, CT, September 9, 2024 – The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley is excited to announce that registration is now open for the 22nd Annual Commodore Hull Thanksgiving Day 5K Road Race, a beloved community tradition. Scheduled for Thanksgiving morning, this iconic charity road race begins at 8 a.m. in downtown Shelton at Veterans Memorial Park, winds through Derby, and loops back to Shelton, offering participants a scenic route through the historic downtown areas of these neighboring towns.
Early registration is encouraged, as race shirts and bibs are guaranteed only for runners who register by November 18, 2024. The registration fee for participants aged 19 to 69 is $35, which will increase to $40 starting November 1. Youth participants under 18 can register for $20, and registration is free for those aged 70 and older. The race is capped, so runners are urged to secure their spots quickly.
Participants can enhance their race day experience with the RaceJoy app, which offers progress alerts, official end times, and the ability for family and friends to track runners and send virtual cheers. RaceJoy is free for both runners and spectators, adding a layer of excitement and connectivity to this Thanksgiving tradition.
