Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley 2024 Service to Youth Awards – Tickets On Sale

Shelton, CT, April 8, 2024 – Tickets to the 2024 Service to Youth Awards are on sale now. The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley Service to Youth Awards bestows the highest honors to individuals and organizations within the community for their unwavering commitment to our youth. The annual awards ceremony will be held on the evening of May 9th at The Stone Barn at Whitney Farms in Monroe, CT.

The Service to Youth Awards event and has most recently evolved into a cocktail party followed by the awards program. The community is encouraged to attend in support of their fellow friends and colleagues being honored; additionally this is Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley’s most prestigious fundraising event of the year. New to the event in 2024, local musician and philanthropist, Benny Mikula, (of The Alpaca Gnomes) will be performing live music during the cocktail and hors d’oeuvres hour.

Calvin K. Price has been chosen as the recipient of the Raymond P. Lavietes Service to Youth Award. Minuteman Press of Shelton (owner Harry Burlakoff) has been chosen as the recipient of the Champion of Youth Award. Brian Marcucio has been chosen as the Alumni Hall of Fame Award recipient. Jason Carlucci owner of Dew Drop Inn and Matthew Calandro owner of Caloroso Eatery & Bar will both be honored with the From The Heart Award.

The Raymond P. Lavietes Service to Youth Award is the highest honor the Club can present to an individual, named after beloved Club friend and supporter, Ray Lavietes, who helped make our Boys & Girls Club a frontrunner in the provision of services to youth through his dedication and commitment. This award honors an individual or individuals worthy of recognition due to their involvement in serving the youth of our community.

The Champion of Youth Award is the highest honor our Boys & Girls Club can award a company/organization. It is presented to those worthy of recognition due to their involvement in serving the youth of our community. This honor is presented for outstanding leadership and untiring dedication to youth activities, distinguished record in volunteer service with an emphasis on youth, and exceptional support of our Boys & Girls Club.

Alumni Hall of Fame Award recognizes former members and staff for their contributions to society, outstanding leadership, dedication to children, and service to the community and Boys & Girls Clubs.

From the Heart Award is the highest honor our Boys & Girls Club can award an individual(s) or an organization who go above and beyond, contributing their time, talent, and/or treasure in ways that directly impact our members. Their special acts of caring are often the touch that makes their chosen program, event, or unit a success.
