Bags that Give Back: Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley Selected to Benefit in Big Y Community Bag Program

Jan 24, 2022

Shelton, CT, January 24, 2022 –The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley (the Club) has been selected by Big Y in Shelton as the benefiting non-profit in February’s Community Bag Program. The program is an easy way for shoppers to give back to the local community and the environment as part of the regular shopping routine.

Every $2.50 reusable Community bag sends a $1 donation to our Boys & Girls Club. These special bags are marked and marketed separately from the store’s reusable shopping bags, so if you don’t see the specially marked Community bag, be sure to ask your cashier if you’d like to purchase one. Bags can be purchased throughout the month of February.

“It’s a simple and convenient way to support our boys and girls right in the check-out line,” says Shaye Roscoe, Chief Executive Officer of the Club. “No amount is ever too small to make a difference, and the power of our community chipping in one dollar at a time can make a big impact for these kids.”

For more than 65 years, the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley has provided a positive environment for children and teens throughout the Valley. For more information about the Club, visit us at www.BGC-LNV.org
